End of Key Stage 2 Test Results Guidance
The government has released the following document as guidance to support parents and carers of children in Year 6 with understanding the results of the end of key stage tests.

Well done to all Year 6 pupils for demonstrating a positive attitude towards the SATs and for their endeavours in taking responsibility and demonstrating a commitment to their learning.

As Year 6 pupils reach their final half term at Highfield we hope that they continue to work and play hard and demonstrate our school motto in all that they do.

For the final term Year 6 will continue to produce examples of writing which demonstrates key skills expected of Year 6 pupils.
Class 9 will continue to read their class text ‘Time travelling with a hamster’ by Ross Welford.
Children will be covering the performance objectives of the English national curriculum in reading and speaking and listening through rehearsals and production of ‘Grease’.
Having covered all of the learning objectives of the Year 6 maths curriculum we will be encouraging pupils to revisit areas they found challenging to ensure they feel confident using a range of strategies to enable success as they transfer in to Year 7.
Please remember, all children should know their multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12.

We will continue our study of the fascinating lives of the Ancient Egyptians. Much of our work will be linked to our newspaper and diary entry writing which links to the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
Please choose one of the following options and return before 07.07.17.
- Design and create a pyramid (use paper/cardboard or anything else you think would be useful).
- Using outstanding openers, retell the story of Tutankhamun.
- Draw or paint yourself as an Egyptian pharaoh. Are you going to use paint or make a collage?
- Compose your own song or poem that tourists could listen to whilst walking around a tomb.
Homework will be given out on a Wednesday and is due in on the following Monday. A homework club is available on a Thursday lunchtime.

Indoor kit consists of a white t-shirt with burgundy/black shorts

Year 6 enjoyed relaxation sessions ahead of their SATs. For those who wish to continue we encourage children to download and listen to the music daily, perhaps before going to sleep.
