History:
After studying how crime and punishment has changed in Britain from the Roman Era through to Victorian times, we've come a long way! At no point so far has there been mention of the people that spring to mind when we think about crime and punishment - the police! That is because until 1829.
Before a police force was established, the streets of London were governed by the Bow Street Runners.
Your task is to research and present the changes in Policing from the introduction of the Bow Street Runners, through the establishment of the police force. You may want to explain how the police in the early stages were very different to what we know of the police today.
