New starters September 2020

Welcome to Highfield Primary School!

Please note we will do our best to inform you as soon as we receive Government advice regarding schools re-opening.

Please return to this page regularly to see any updates.

Your child is due to start school / Nursery in September 2020 and we would like to thank you for choosing Highfield Primary School. We look forward to your child starting their school career with us and to getting to know them.

As a school we are committed to smooth and timely transitions that allow every child to settle in, get to know their teachers, their new environment and make new friendships. We believe parents and carers play a key role in this transition and want you to feel reassured that your child is safe and happy at school.

Due to the current situation, with partial school closure and the uncertainty of how long this will last, it is difficult for us to inform you of any transition arrangements. We will contact you over the coming weeks when we will hopefully be able to provide more details regarding school re-opening and your child’s transition. Nursery parents / carers who have already received information regarding dates please note that these could change dependent upon Government advice regarding School & Nursery re-opening.

Please explore our school website which has a wealth of information to offer about our school.  Our Nursery and Reception prospectuses provide important information regarding CARE, the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and preparation for starting at Highfield (these will be updated in July ready for any changes in September).

Start by having a look at the pictures of our main school, they can be found here.

At Highfield, we talk about the ‘triangle of success’- the relationship between children, parents/carers and school; each of us with particular roles, all united with one common goal – children’s success.

Please be reassured that we have a great deal of experience and success with transition to our Nursery and Reception classes and are carefully considering ways we can prepare your child and give them the best start to school life at Highfield, no matter when this is.

We are sure that together we can achieve this.
