RE is an important part of the curriculum at Highfield and makes a unique contribution to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils. Religion and beliefs inform our values and are reflected in what we say and how we behave.
At Highfield, we aim to provide a broad and balanced RE curriculum which gives our pupils the opportunity to explore their own values and beliefs as well as learn to understand and respect the beliefs of others. We follow the LA (Local Authority) agreed syllabus for RE which can be accessed through the following link:

We encourage a wide variety of visitors from a multitude of faiths to visit our school to encourage our pupils' knowledge, understanding and tolerance of other faiths and beliefs.
Whilst we have close links to St Clements church in Urmston, we also plan and arrange trips to other places of worship such as the Jewish synagogue in Altrincham.
During our 'Diversity Week' we had visitors in school to talk to children about Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and Sikhism. More about this can be found on the Events page.
