OUR LIBRARY

The library is at the heart of the school, reflecting the huge importance we place on books and reading. Our library has recently undertaken a small make over, removing the tables and chairs make the space much more welcoming. We aim to make the space cosy and inviting for all pupils, further embedding the love for reading at Highfield.

The intent of our library is to;

  •  Increase children’s enjoyment of books
  • Increase the range of books children have access to.
  • Encourage children to try new authors and subjects
  • encourage children to research new areas of learning.

When is the library open?

Our library is open every day for classes to visit. Each class has a weekly timetabled slot.

How do we stock our library?

We want books and we want lots of them! We use an amount of our school’s budget to help keep our library generously stocked. We do this because we place huge value on having an inviting and ‘current’ library for our children to enjoy. We also accept high quality donations from staff and pupils.
