RE enrichment
At Highfield we aim to find ways to enrich our school curriculum through clubs, event days and other opportunities.
Special R.E. Days
As part of our ongoing commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering a deeper understanding of different faiths and cultures, we have Special R.E. Days throughout the year which focus on different festivals and celebrations.
In October, we explored Diwali, learning how Sikhs, Jains, and Hindus around the world celebrate this festival of light.
In December, we explored Christmas, understanding why it is such an important celebration for Christians.
In March, we explored the significance of Ramadan and Eid for Muslims around the world.
Highfield's KS2 Christmas Celebrations
Visitors
During the Autumn term, Reverend Matthew Carlisle visited Highfield to speak with our KS1, LKS2 and UKS2 pupils about Christian beliefs, the importance of the Bible, and how Jesus’ teachings influence the way Christians live today.
In March, Mr Pasha visited our LKS2 pupils and shared how he celebrates Ramadan and Eid.
Mrs Lewis also visits classes when they are learning about Judaism, sharing how she celebrates Shabbat and Hanukkah.
At Highfield, we warmly welcome parents and carers to share their experiences and beliefs with our pupils. If you would like to come into school and share your experiences with us, please email me at class7@highfield-primary.trafford.sch.uk
