Our EYFS team at Highfield are highly experienced, skilled and passionate professionals who genuinely love working within our school community. They take great pride in ensuring that every child has the best possible experiences within our EYFS setting and are deeply committed to our CARE values of Consideration, Aspiration, Responsibility and Enjoyment.
We provide a nurturing, caring and supportive environment built on positive relationships, where adults guide and inspire children to become independent, active, empathetic and compassionate learners. Through high-quality interactions and carefully planned experiences, children are encouraged to aspire to be the best they can be, take responsibility for their learning, show consideration for others and, above all, enjoy every aspect of their learning journey, gaining real satisfaction from all that they achieve.

Mrs Keegan - Nursery Teacher on a Monday and Tuesday
BA (Hons) Early Primary Education.

Hi, I am Mrs Keegan and I love working in Highfield Nursery. I love animals and growing up I would spend my summers at my Nanna's farm in Ireland, riding horses, driving tractors and watching the cows. Now, I have a little dog called Luna who will bark and bark until you throw her a tennis ball and I have a little boy called Bobby who loves being outside, spotting birds, waving at trains and splashing in puddles.

Hi, my name is Mrs Horrocks and I have worked in nursery for 34 years. I have a real passion for Early Years and absolutely love working in the nursery, where no two days are ever the same. I especially enjoy baking with the children and making yummy treats together, as well as putting on our suits and getting messy during play – those are often the most fun days!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, going for walks, baking, gardening and getting lost in a good book. I also love visiting my family in Australia whenever I can.
Mrs Macaulay- Nursery Teaching Assistant
Yoga Teacher
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
I love working with the children at Highfield because of their honesty, curiosity, and energy. Teaching yoga along this allows me to meet them where they are, helping them build confidence, emotional awareness, and a positive connection to their bodies in a fun and supportive way.

NPQ in Early Years Leadership
My name is Mrs Sweeney and I am very fortunate to be the Early Years Lead at Highfield. I have been teaching in Reception at Highfield since September 2013 and feel privileged to work with our youngest children at such an important stage in their learning journey. I am passionate about Early Years education and find it incredibly rewarding to see the progress children make as they grow in confidence, independence and curiosity. I particularly enjoy keeping active and spending time outdoors, which I believe plays an important role in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing. I love being part of the Highfield team and feel that our children are very lucky to have such dedicated, caring and highly skilled staff supporting them every day.
Miss Seddon- Reception Class Teacher- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
BA (Hons) Early Primary Education.
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Hello, my name is Miss Seddon and I teach in Reception from Monday to Wednesday. I love spending my days learning, playing and having lots of fun with the children in my class. When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, including my two little girls, Rosie and Poppy. We love going on outdoor adventures together and hunting for the best place to enjoy a cosy hot chocolate and cake — or an ice cream when the sun is shining!
Miss Cassidy- Reception Class 1 Monday-Friday.
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Hi, my name is Miss Cassidy. I like reading, travelling and all things musical! I have a lovely holiday home in North Wales that I enjoy visiting with my family, and we have two gorgeous dogs who love it just as much!
One of my favourite things to do with our children is storytelling. I adore reading to them and listening as they excitedly share their favourite stories, fairy tales, and little tales about their weekends. Encouraging imagination and a love for stories is something very close to my heart.
Our EYFS Lead is Mrs Sweeney, who will be very happy to support you. Please feel free to contact her at school in the first instance if you have any questions or concerns.
