ECO COUNCIL. The Eco Team have taken part in a range of environmental initiatives. They entered the River Mersey Walking Route logo competition, designing their own creative logos and are currently awaiting the results.

The team also participated in the RSPB’s Schools’ Birdwatch, helping to develop pupils’ understanding of local wildlife, and carried out a lights and screens monitoring check across school to promote energy conservation.

Looking ahead, they are planning a whole-school litter pick, explore ways to reduce paper usage, and share information to parents regarding a Repair Week; encouraging families to reuse and repair items rather than discarding them. They are also taking part in a Highfield Switch off fortnight where they are monitoring classroom lights and boards to encourage a 10% reduction in energy use.
